Injector terminal
Injector terminal
Hi Guys
Can someone tell me for sure on how to remove these terminals in order to replace them? I search google and there is a lot of "generic" info on GM connectors but I couldn't find this particular type...
remove from the top/bottom? tool number? Part number of the terminals? I have a Pico kit and nothing seems to work. Should I just change to another style connector? originality is not an issue.
Any info or link would be greatly appreciated, I will try to post a pic...

Re: Injector terminal
There is a latch tab on each contact accessible from the rear of the connector. The weather cover/boot needs to be removed to access the rear. Once the latch tab is released the contact can slide out the face of the connector body.

Re: Injector terminal
There is a locking tab on each contact (terminal) of the connector assembly:

(Photo Property of http://injectorrepair.com/fuel-injector-connectors/)
You need to take a thin, skinny and long tool (they make special tools for this: ) and shove it between the assembled contact and connector housing in order to press down the locking tab.
Once the locking tab is pressed down, the contact can be removed from the housing. You don't need to bend the tab; pressure from the tool should be sufficient to press the tab for it to clear the connector body cavity.
With the connector in the photo, the tool is inserted on the injector side and the contact is removed from the wire side (based in the orientation of the locking tab). The injector connectors on my TPI, it appears that contact removal from the connector is like this.

Re: Injector terminal
I checked out the link supplied with the pic and if you click on my thumbnail, the injector connector is not the same like mine neither are the terminals...
Worst case I will have to cut one open to see how they are made...I tryed going from the underside, like Vader suggested, and made a mess of it. I have unpinned a hundred GM terminals and never been this frustrated.

Re: Injector terminal
That is a Metri-Pack Pull to Seat connector. The terminal comes out the front and is released from the front. See the image for more information.
