Rebuilt engine starts fine but dies

OK so I just rebuilt my 86 trans am is a 305 tpi it starts just fine first crank but after it starts it dies and cannot figure out why can some one please help would be greatly appreciated

Did you do the rebuild? Did a shop?

Everything put back the way it was?

Distributor put back where it was, aka is timing right?

Start with any codes?
Then check fuel. First impulse, low fuel pressure. Did you put in a new fuel pump? The correct fuel pump? There are more than one for the 305. Check fuel pressure
Then look for vacuum leaks. Did you connect the two big hoses at the front of the manifold? One to valve cover, one to carbon canister. The lines to the EGR and fuel pressure regulator, the AC/cruise control and other lines.
Then look at the electricals.
