Can I use 305 TPI parts on any 350 block?

I just purchased an 89' Trans Am. The stock 305 is locked up. I want to go with a 350 but I also want stay TPI And I cant find any 350 TPI engines around me. So can I take any 350 engine and use the 305 TPI setup and the 305 heads on it?

Yea I know I would need the bigger injectors and couldn't I just get a ecu from a 350 TPI car and swap out?

Re: Can I use 305 TPI parts on any 350 block?

Yes... The sbc v8 engine is pretty universal in design. For the gen 1 style (non LT/LS) parts will swap around between 262 cid to 400 cid, from 1955 to 2000.

Major changes was.
56 or 57 side engine mounts added
86 center bolt valve covers, and intake bolt angle changed on the heads, 1 pc rear main seal replaced the 2 pc rear main seal, start of roller cams in car engine
96 vortec heads, intake bolt pattern changed on heads, all roller cams.

So yes you can put your TPI and heads on any 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 400 block

Only thing is to use your TPI intake, you need 1986-95 heads due to the bolt pattern angle. (or of course, just elongate the 4 center holes and it will fit on the 1955-85 heads)
