86IROC 305 repaced with 350 Purchased prom doesnt start engine
Hello, I have a 1986 Tuneport IROC.
I replaced 305 with 350. It runs great. But, I know could be alot better.
I has a 700R4, 3:73 gears, MASS AIR gutted, Headers,
I purchased a JET Perofrmance Products Chip #18614S
Problem: engine will not start with this chip. Was told I need a 87 IROC Tuneport 350 Chip. I can't find one ANYWHERE.
Where can I get a chip to use with this combo? This is a piggyback chip.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Had chip for 4 years and havent been able to use.

For a cast iron head 87 l98 automatic you should have chosen jets 18705 or 18705s. Both the 86-89 corvette and tpi f body use the same 1227165 ecm.
There are differences between the years and f and y body ac pressure switch.
If this is incorrect the fan will run all the time.

its a 1995 four bolt main block 1990 Camaro Fast Burn Heads 348 hp roller cam.
I bypassed the key at bottom of steering col. It runs great. Just know that it may be lean and timing control isnt correct and could get more from it.

It shows it’s for a 86 corvette so vats is enabled.

Ok car has a 350 TUNEPORT that chip was for a 350
So, the correct chip would have been 18611S for the 305L.
If I to find a 350 chip from 87. It still will not work because those cars had VATS.
Ok..... I have a 1989 RS Camaro that I have completely stripped. It has the VATS in the wiring. Since they use the same computers, could it be wired into the system?

Vats didn’t come out until 88 in some f body’s and 86 up in Vette’s.
You could use a vats system to feed the ecm a hz signal but with all that work it would be easier to have a prom burned for your application.
Theirs would be tbi and uses a different service number ecm.
The tpi you have used a 1227165 ecm the tbi rs if it was tbi uses a 1228746 ecm .

I have had 7 Camaros and forgot that this 1986 was not one that had the VATS bypassed. Because someone before me had replaced Steering Col. with a later type that had VATS. It has a VATS type key....
The 86's with TBI did have it.
I am trying not to speed anymore money on this because I purchased a Chip from Summitt Racing and they will not return product now. I had called them several times about this problem.... Needless to say, I will not purchase anything else from them.......
I looked at the Passkey box on a 1989 wiring harness I have that was TBI and a TPI. Two different ones. Both have the same PASSKEY box part numbers. I looked at the wiring diagrams for both. Same.
From what I see I can key on several wires, PIN computer with Dark Blue and ground other wire. B6 is PIN location on computer.
