Ecm egr fault code

Swapped v6 for v8 with original 4l60e and electric egr valve. Drive for miles and as soon as you let off the throttle throws the code for egr. You can’t get on it as long as the check engine is on or the tranny goes into limp mode. Please Help!

Ok, the most common test is to have the car idling and gently push on the diaphragm inside the EGR. This should cause the car to have a rough idle or die if it doesn't something is blocked and needs to be cleaned out. Here is a website with more information on the EGR system and different tests you can try.
