Distributorless Ignition for 7730 ECM

I'm starting to think about this... The experience I had with that Accel HEI module kinda opened my eyes about how much spark energy can contribute to performance. It's too bad it failed so soon... and I don't want to go with any aftermarket module again due to the notorious unreliability of these things.

So any rate, I'm wondering if should just go whole-hog and go DIS.

I searched and read through a few threads on the subject, but honestly my head is spinning on what to do. I'm trying to see if there's some sort of clear concise step-by-step, here's what you need to buy, here's what you need to do, etc.

One guy at the end of this 4 year old thread said he had a bolt on kit, so I PM'd him just now...

But is there anything else available?

* Coil Pack
* Crank Trigger
* Oil Pump Drive in lieu of the distributor (LT1), or modified distributor shaft (SBC)...

I think I have seen that done on a 165 ECM too. It was a loooong time ago though and I'm getting a bit fuzzy.

How do you mount an LT1 oil pump drive in a SBC? There is no flat spot to bolt it down in the lifter valley.

No I meant if he was already using an LT1 block. Would have to revert back to the small oil pump drive that bolts under the intake manifold, or modify the HEI distributor to act as just an oil pump drive off of the camshaft if it's a Gen 1 block. Though I have seen a few people drill and tap the center of the block in the lifter valley while using a bolt spacer to secure the small drive in a Gen 1 SBC... but its easier to just modify the distributor.
