Dynamic efi
Is anyone using the ebl flash with a windows 11 laptop? My old laptop crashed and I cannot get this new one to communicate. I've downloaded all the software and the disc drive, as well as the ftdi driver, but no luck. Any ideas?

Re: Dynamic efi
Not familiar with your setup in particular, but I just installed the drivers for my FiTech setup on Win10, and I had to disable driver signature verification to successfully install the drivers for the handheld unit. Hold shift + restart, then it's option 7 under troubleshooting-> advanced options or something like that. An idea to try if you haven't yet, anyway.

Re: Dynamic efi
Thanks for the replies, I do have the correct com port assigned, and it recognizes that it's plugged in.
I don't seem to have a driver signature option on this laptop, maybe it's a windows 10 thing.
I think I'll order a new chipset from ftdi. I don't know who makes this one, there's no name on it. It's whatever came with it when I ordered the dynamic efi, it's several years old.
Thanks everyone, I'll give an update when I have the new one

I specifically only ordered adapters that used the FTDI chip.

Thank you, I went on the ftdi wedsite, and they have so many adaptors. Will any of them work? Or is there one you recommend?

Chipi-X10
It is a short cable that converts from RS-232 serial to USB.
RBob.
Edit to add: they are available at regular electronics distributors. Don't need to order directly from FTDI, although there isn't any reason not too.

Re: Dynamic efi
IIRC, your have an early unit that uses the serial cable. So require a serial to USB adapter cable. At this time the one to get:

Re: Dynamic efi
This is the one I use. I did not have to install any drivers, plug and play with windows 11. The 6 foot cable allows me to zip tie the db9 connector under the passenger seat and not have it hanging off of the computer.

Re: Dynamic efi
I finally got around to trying the new adapter. Still no luck. I'm at a loss here. I've been in the process of moving so this is very frustrating. does anyone have any ideas for what else to try? I really need to get this working again
Re: Dynamic efi
With the adapter pluged into your pc. From the taskbar click Search - type DEVICE MANAGER - allow changes YES - ports (COM&LPT) - USB Serial (COM#) Click on this and check properties. It should identify your adapter. Report back to us.

Re: Dynamic efi
Thank you, I did that, and for some unknown reason its working now. I didn't make any changes but it working so I'm happy!
This is on a new laptop, and I lost everything on my old one. I'm using 32.xdf file and I downloaded all three bins from tunerpro. The spark advance table has rpm and lv8 I think? What is lv8? It used to be sa and map. Also the is no fuel table. Did I download the wrong files?

Re: Dynamic efi
This has been a long and frustrating process. I went through every xdf file on the tunerpro site, and couldn't find the file I used to have or a sutable one. I tried the update in the link tuned performance sent me in the previous post. It looks like it comes with an xdf. It will not flash for the update. It keeps saying update failed. I have the correct comm port selected and followed the instructions. I can communicate and read the current flash in the car. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

Make sure to close the WUD. That the update program shows the port is open. Be sure to do a key-on, engine-off, then click proceed with update.
Once the EBL ECM is updated use the Windows Add/Remove programs to un-install the current EBL Flash installation. Then use the .MSI (MicroSoft Install) file to install the latest & greatest. Run the install by double licking on the .MSI file.
New everything will be installed including the proper XDF file.

Re: Dynamic efi
ok, thank you, I have the update installed, I think it was because I had the wud running to verify communication. I still do not have a xdf file. I thought I read somewhere that the update had one. Yes there are xdf files to download on the tunerpro site. In the download section under definitions, there is a manufacturer index, however I do not see a suitable one for me. Most of them have ae and sa tables only go to 4500 rpm. My old one that is forever lost had a high and low rpm, lean cruise and other great features. Where can I find another good xdf?

Re: Dynamic efi
Unless I have gone completely blind, I do not see any XDF's related to the EBL Flash system in the Tuner Pro Index. That was my question, if the website hosted EBL related XDF's. Anyway, you already confirmed you downloaded the latest update from Dynamic EFI... go into your Tuner Pro application (your Tuner Pro app, not the website), select XDF on the top left drop down, and click on select XDF. After you're brought over to your system files, click on your C Drive, then select Program Files. From there click on Dynamic EFI, followed by EBL Flash. Here you will find the XDF that you need, select it and verify it is being used in your Tuner Pro application on the very top of the screen. You're only using the TunerPro.net website to download Tuner Pro, do not use it for XDF's or Bin's...
From there do the exact same thing with the Bin that you want, on the top left in the Tuner Pro application;
File > Open Bin > C Drive > Program Files > Dynamic EFI > EBL Flash > Bins
.- Rob

Re: Dynamic efi
ok, I did all of that and I have everthing I need. Thank you for helping me get up and running again. Yes, if you follow my instructions on the tunerpro site, they have many xdf's that I tried to use, and they worked, but they didn't have the correct parameters.

Re: Dynamic efi
Hello Rob,
I'm new to the EBL system and have it installed on an TBI 305 in my tow vehicle. The tune my ECU came back with runs well but I need a little simple basic guidance with the Whats Up Display and how it interacts with the Tuner Pro. I have both installed, my laptop communicates with the ECU and it would appear everything is working / reading. This is in a pickup and I'm trying to tune it for torque. It's bone stock with no CAT or air pump and EGR removed. I'm just not very computer literate and if I botch this up I'm concerned the truck won't run properly. I don't really understand the online Dynamic EFI manuals because I have questions on the flashing part and about what I need to do or not do. LoL...
I'm currently trying to get an adjustable FPR and have an AEM wideband for tuning but haven't gotten the bung welded in yet. I'm not sure where to put it actually for the best readings. I just have simple questions and need basic help to get this all up and tuning. You seem very knowledgeable with this system and engines in general so hopefully you can help.
AIso I live in Hanover Pennsylvania 18706 if there is anyone up this way who could help please let me know.
Thanks
Brian
