Accel DFI6 / Calmap 6.2 on a modern Win10 laptop

Hi guys,

I got the Z28tt running again after about 7 years of sitting (woohoo!!!). Anyone know if it's possibile to run Calmap 6.2 on a moden Win10 laptop? I've got a serial<>usb adapter... Virtual machine running DOS or Win95?

Someone was able to emulate on Wn 7 using DOSBox. You can see see if this works for you.

FAST - Thanks! Just downloaded that. Now how to get CALMAP 6.32 on there? My 15 year old laptop boots, but half the keys don't work. C:\CALMAP = C:\CLM. Doh!

Anyone have the exe, so I can install it on DOSBOX? I found my padded envelope looking for the floppy disc, but who has a floppy disc drive these days?!! Do I somehow connect the ancient laptop to the new laptop to copy over the exe? Hmmm.

I do have a copy of CALMAP 6.32 but looks like you're set. Hope it works out for you! I've been thinking about dusting off my DFI6 box for my current IROC but I also have a Haltech Platinum Sport GM that plugs right in.

I may be needing a copy of Calmap 6.32 myself. Went to make some adjustments yesterday and looks like my ancient laptop has bit the dust. I don't know if I even have the program on disk anymore. I have it saved in the C drive and always just ran it from there. Gonna see if I can find a decent laptop that wil run Windows 98. Paid $50 for this one 12 years ago. Not really worth spending more to get it fixed.

Sorry for the late response guys. I've attached a zip file of CalMap to this thread.

If you already have a good working laptop that can emulate and run the older software, why not just go that route instead of having extra equipment and spending the additional cash? Accel CalMap was primarily designed around the 486 processors and to operate in DOS only. You would get some communication errors running in Win 3.1 and more so with Win 95-up. Going over 1st gen Pentium 75 or 90, you ran into a communication error similar to running CalMap in Windows. CalMap 7.0 is roughly about the same generation as the Holley Commander 950 software are were running on the same hardware and software requirements as the 950 and was a bit more forgiving running faster 1st gen Pentium laptops and not having issues running in Windows. Just looking around on eBay and local market places, most want some stupid amount of money for a "vintage" working 486 or slower 1st gen pentium. Most around $75 are tagged "not working" or "parts only". Working seems to go for $150 or way over because it's "vintage". Of course you may find an awesome deal or know someone that might have one to give you for free. Going emulation through a Win 7 or Win 10 laptop one may already own becomes more viable solution.
