I have some DFI questions
I'm planning a motor build, a 385 with a super ram. I'm trying to figure out whether I should use DFI or burn a chip for the stock ECU. I have some general questions and need a little help.
How different/better is Calmap 6.0 and 7?
Can you still use EGR with DFI to get good highway mileage (car will be a daily driver for a while)?
For anyone who has done DFI and prom burning which was more user friendly?
I have a demo of Calmap 7 and it seems pretty easy to use DFI. It seems the program can kind of react to your needs, in that it asks you info about your motor and all.
How exactly does the whole jumper cable setup work?
What exactly do you need for DFI, do I need a new harness, only parts of the harness, ECU, etc. ?
I'm trying to go down the right path here, and I also like DFI for it's on-the-fly programmability, where as with prom burning you need to remove the prom each time to make changes. Please give me some insight. Thanks a bunch.
