Newbie here lots of questions ya have seen before.

Hi all I Have been reading up on TPI swaps for a little while now and still have only limited knowlege of the systems. Anyway I plan on swaping a SD 90-92 system in my SS. I want to be able to have full tunabilty with a piggy back system and burning proms. I will be doing this all in stages with first being the engine swap. Mild 350 with AFR 190s and a larger runner intake (Maby a mini ram) and this with the stock SD system. After this I dont know exactly how to go about choosing a piggy back system for what I want to do. Any input is apreciated. Thanks

The stock ecm is very very good, and unless your changing to huge injectors there is no real reason to change.

Just off hand I can't think of any piggy back systems still out there.

The miniram is not what you'd want in an SS unless carring a fair amount of gear.

You say "Still out there" does this mean there was but now isnt? I found this company http://whiteracing.com/ But havent called them yet but seems they offer a piggy back type system?

My SS has 3.42 rear gears and a richmond 6 speed so it will see high RPMs (7500) espcially when I take it to a road course.

3.42's and a six speed... that's not high RPM's. High RPM's would be 4.10's or 4.56's

at 80mph in 6th you'll be crusing about 1800 rpm.

See but thats the great thing about a manual tranny. You can leave it in a lower gear. I never pull in 6th. its mostly for highway use as you have already calculated. But I hit 6000RPM all day when I autocross the thing. It will see High RPMs. Trust me.

Yeah, I have one in my car w/ 3.73's

But, in my personal opinion a T-56 needs to have 3.73's or better. With a 4.10 sixth will pull on the freeway. But you have to shift twice to get across an intersecion.

Guys I have a richmond 6. I picked the gears in it to work with 3.42s and a 26" tire. Pluss I can always change them if I want.

But anyway back to my original question. can anyone give me some definetive answers? Is there a proven piggy back system out there that i have over looked? Thanks.
