Wich ECM can I use to kick my 1226870 ECM from my ´85 TPI 305"

I want to have more options to programm and the advantage of that 8192baud ALDL.
Are ther others than the 1227165 that can be usefull?
How to make the swap.
Where to get the parts?

Thanks a lot.

A quick search on the DIY-Prom Board should turn it up.
The names Dave Zug, and Mike Davis come to mind.

Hi Grumpy!
Sorry for long delay!
Live is hectic you know.

Today I took it apart to change the cams back to the 184/194.
I must use the garage if it´s possible.
In the process I found the timing marks out of range.
That means while TDC (detected with degree wheel) the TDC mark of the balancer was about 25 to 30 deg in turning direction.
I think somebody installed the wrong timing cover.
That would mean that engine runs with a ign. that´s 30 deg advanced in addition to the advance out of the ECM.

I´m just wondering if could be possible that engine run´s?
If so that should be the cause for the knocking isn´t it?

As for the idle it runs lightly high and unstable means
2sec´s smooth; short rpm down( like one or more missing cyl.)
2sec´s smooth and so on

BTW:all cyl pressures are withhin 155 - 165 psi at cranking speed

All for now.
I´ll let you know what happens with the other cam and (hopefully) right timing marks means ignition.

Thanks for listening
