My car is currently in the shop and my mechanic wants to send it to a specialist for electrical problems. This will cost me a ton of money I don't have!

Here is the situation. My car is a 89 GTA, years ago I removed all of the smog equipment because I piggy backed a Accel DFI which omitted these sensors. A few months ago I reinstalled all of the smog equipment to try to revert back to the factory computer because my DFI crapped out and I received the dreaded CA Test Only Smog! Now that everything is back in order my computer doesn't read any of the sensors and wont throw any codes. We tried to replace the computer but it didn't do any thing. Any ideas would be helpful.
