Communication probs using diacom on 91 tpi 350

Communication probs using diacom on 91 tpi 350

I cannot get diacom to connect to my 91 formie 350 tpi...
when i run link it shows the harness/connector as being good but when i attempt to link it to the vehicle it never connects just keeps displaying... "Linking to vehicle" and same happens car running or key on.....

my check eng lite is functional and my snap on scanner works fine as well any ideas welcome

i am running a toshiba pentium 100 laptop if that helps out at all

Make sure you are using the correct cable, Diacom comes with 2 or 3 different ones, also ensure you are running in DOS and not a DOS shell from windows. good luck mike

trying diacom p on my new laptop t-nitew and see if that makes any change, but please anyone with ideas or similair situations please chime in

well now it gets interesting on my pentium 100 toshiba in dos mode it recognizes the cable but will not communicate with the car... on my new pII 490 tochiba it will not even rcognize the cable at all and of course no communication

any ideas?
i will try to get ahold of doacom t'row and see if they can tell me,help me with anything

me and my dad ran into this same problem...turns out that the port on the computer that diacom connects to (forget if its the serial or parallel) can transmit too fast on newer computers...the only computers we got to work with it are a 386-20 and some old *** 8088. we tried a pentium 166, and a 400 but they didnt work...as far as i know there is no way around this. Just try to find a slow old computer...perferably a 386
once you do get it to work it is great software though
