Im just getting started on the chip burning process, and I was wondering what initial mods were made in a highly ported Base, and runners, I also have the stock 89 L98 cam, 1.6 RR's and vette 58CC alum heads. Just something I can base off of to work with.
thanks
thanks

Then you'll want to take a ton of timing out. The 58cc AL heads don't need much timing to run really well, 28d (TOTAL) should be close.

Well I have that intake combo but I also have TFS 23* heads and the LT4 Hot Cam.... Like Grumpy said, I started with the ARAP. I actually did exactly like he said and pulled a bunch of timing out throughout the main spark table initially due to some part throttle knock I was getting. But since then I have gone back and added some back in - especially in the higher LV-8s and WOT areas. I think my TFS heads 'like' more timing than those L98 heads will want though, so you should listen to Grumpy on the timing. You will also want to tweak the injector constants and your rail pressure to get some fairly steady part throttle 128/128 BLMs. So you should get the ARAP bin, play with the fuel stuff, and back off the timing some until you get comfortable with your BLMs. That should get you started. You can find the ARAP bin at Craig Moates site.
Good Luck,
Matt
