I was paging thru some of the great stuff on the DIY site and I came across a thread about P+H injectors.
I've been thinking about MPFI, but I want to keep my 7747 because it's hacked so well. I thought about, but didn't really investigate, changing out the injectors drivers.
Now I read on the DIY archive that P+H injectors not only operate at a different resistance but the ECM also fires them differently. What I got out of the discussion is that I can't just change the injector drivers because of differences in current draw and because the signal that the driver gets is different as well?
Does that sound right...I hope I made some sense...
TIA

Yes, the TBI dual barrels use a different firing strategy.
There is no reason to use a TBI ecm for a port application.
There are all kinds of hacs floating around on the net, you just have to spend some time finding them.
There are some ecms that can be used in TBI, and TPI mode, and I think the 747 has a setting for that, but again, it's not the best ecm to use for a TPI setup.

Why? What would be the ideal ECM...730?Originally posted by Grumpy
