730 ECM Bad?

I'm in the middle of a 165 to 730 ECM swap. Just checked all the wiring, and all checks out OK. Chip (AUJP bin), MAP, and knock sensor are new. I get no codes, but car runs like crap, if at all. I also get white smoke. Everything works great with the 165 plugged back in. Could this be the 730 ECM being bad? I got it for like $15 off the net. I also unplugged the MAF relays.

Thanks

When you ran the car with the 730 hooked up did you communicate with the ecm through a scanner to see what was going on? And if your running the 383 that I think you are with a stock chip that is a no no. Speed density system do not work the same as MAF systems, MAF systems compensate for air coming in.. and the SD system will not, it runs off of preprogrammed tables in the prom. First thing to do if you haven't yet is to set your injector constant, idle rpm, and maybe tweak the rest of the switch constants then run the motor again, it was probly running VERY rich. I know my 383 ran extremely rich on the 730 ecm with a stock chip, you will need extensive tuning.
