Very General question about the 87 Corvette .bin

Hey guys, I have a very general question here. I recently acquired the EPROM that came out of an 87 Corvette. I stuck it in the Iroc because its been running a bit lean, and I thought I remembered reading that the Corvette had a little bit more advanced timing curve and a more aggressive fuel curve also. Is this chip Ok to run temporarily in my 89 MAF car? I am acquiring all the tuning equpiment so this is kinda like a temporary thing just to ensure that I am not gonna be running too lean. I do still get the SES light signifying that I am running lean though...

Any problems with this that you would be aware of?

A vette chip will not work on an f-body.There is some changes that makes it not work ,I tried it.You best bet is to import some of of the vette tables into a f-body bin.But in the end you will find using a f-body bin is the best. Many folks use tables from a vette bin named arap.I don't think that is the best way to go for SOME f-bodies.Vettes weigh less ,bins have more timing, etc.Just the weight of a vette will effect alot in the prom calibration. An overlooked fact. The arap bin is way to much timing for my engine.Tpi cars tend to like lower timing than carb too.More like 28-34d timing max,so when you do burn don't go crazy on the timing. You will need to learn how to make your total timing come in by 3600rpm or so(another overlooked fact in efi tuning/buning).When you get your burning equipment make changes one at a time.Read as much as you can on it and take your time.Traxion, glenn and grumpy are the experts here so your in good hands. But one thing at a time, raise your fuel pressure for now if your lean.If your getting a ses light then you might have a clogged fuel filter among many other things.Unless you have a "custom" mail order chip.If so then all bets are off.
