getting the 8d to stay closed loop at idle???

My foggy memory seems to recall this being addressed previously-I tried searching under a couple different words but sorry, couldn't find it!
Anyway, I'm working on the 8D now, and find that just a brief period of idle; like 10 seconds (even when well warmed up) and it wants to go open loop. Any suggestions on what I can change to increase the idle closed loop time? I'm going to try changing the O2 sensor tomorrow just to rule it out, and yes the O2 sensor is in the original location-close enough to get hot.
Thanks in advance for any input!
