question about MAF chips
I looked all over Traxions tech article and I could not find the part number for a MAF chip. When I go to jameco.com and put in 27C128 I get a choice of 4 different chips. the choice are
27C128-12
27C128-20
27C128-15
27C128-25
What do these suffix numbers on the end mean? Which one would I use for an 88 IROC?
thanks
Shawn

If your programmer can do them, get the 29c256 flash prom. This way you don't need to erase them. If you read the new and revised tech article (a sticky post too I think) there is some info there about them. If not, I would think the suffix is the speed of the prom minus a zero (12 = 120 ns), and I believe any will work. Either that or the programming voltage but I think it would have to be checked with the programmer you have.
Than you will be just fine w/the AT29C256-12PC ,AT29C256-90PC
or PI SERIES ,The PI just stands for industrial (heavier duty)
the number -** just refers to the speed of the prom in nanoseconds all of which are faster than your ecm.
The AT29 eeproms do not require an eraser you just reburn right over them. When using these chips click on (start device) and type in 04000 then enter before programming or else they will not work- but if you want to read a AT29C256 Prom you have burned then before you read it select 27c128 or else your tuning software will not recognize the file size.

I am having a problem programming the flash chip. When I hit veryify device if says that the device has been verified to buffer. Then when I hit program after verifying it. It won't program it.
If I just hit program device without hitting the verify button it will go through it then it will stop on 04200 and say device did not verify to buffer. Can anyone help?

Well I got it to program but the car won't run with the flash chip in. I have a hypertech memcal that I am using. When I put the hypertech memcal in it will run fine. When I put the chip I programmed in it won't run. I set the start of device to 4000 but it still won't run. Can anyone help?
Are you sure the flash prom is making good contact?
start of device should be 04000.
What is the car doing? anything?
Do fans come on when you turn on the key?
What bin are you using? Vats disabled?

Well stupid me didn't set the device to AT29C256 so that is why it wouldn't work. then I set the start of device to 04000 and the car ran with the new program.
