maf tuning questions(rookie)

Hi.
I have a basic maf tuning question.I am wondering if i have this correct. The way to tune a maf car is thru the maf tables? I basically get into the tables and tell the computer a different value of airflow for a given voltage? Lets say my car has blms in the area of 148 (lean), i would find the tables with the airflow range in looking at and change the g/sec to a higher value, to trick the computer into thinking it is getting more air, so it will increase fuel. Is this a correct assumption? The other thing I am wondering,ok there are lots of things, but Ill try to limit it right now..lol, is the lv8. I cant find a decent explantion of it, and what its values are. I know this is pretty basic stuff, but please be patient, I'm just trying to get my education started on factory efi. The only efi stuff I've had any work with is the F.P. race stuff, and it was pretty much point and click to adjust(just add percent of fuel and where, etc) thanks

There are lots of MAF tuning posts in the archives that will answer your questions. Look for ones by kvu, GregWestphal, and DANIELEK.

For explanations of things like LV8, check out www.diy-efi.org in the GMECM Frequently Asked Questions list.
