What is required to burn a new PROM?

I have an 86 Camaro TPI, but the person I bought it off of put a 350 in it. I don't know what size cam it has or the compression ratio. I've been talking to some people and they've said I should go with a memcal ship, but my concern is will it fix all my problems. Would it actually be better to go with a custom burned chip, plus what is the average cost?

The main cost is your time and dedication in order to search & search, test & test.

At first, you needs read the TRAXION's article. This article (LINKS included!!!) is the most complete PROM's article on the net (is my opinnion, at least).

With this art. + links + time + search + test + little $$ = you'll can put your car "where the ground is".

Good luck.

: P730: Part Throttle Fuel Tuning (no PE)

The article just a few above this one. The article is in reguards to the Speed Density ECM, not the Mass Air, however, you can learn a lot from the post.

felo72:

Go you to home page (www.thirdgen.org), click at "Technical articles", then go down to that page at "Electrical". At 6th point, click at "Programming PROM......". This is the art. by TRAXION. Reads it at search for all the links.
