My 86 Tran Am has the single fan & the cold start injector. With the car cold & ignition on the fan does not spin. As soon as you crank the car up within 5 seconds of running the fan starts. Is there a problem with the arap code & a 86 single fan setup?
Second problem, what shuts the cold start injector off?? When creating the prom chip with the arap code, I dont see anything with the cold start injector.
Can I just disconnect the wires at the cold start injector or do I need to block off the fuel going to it? My idle goes up & down from 1300-1000rpm regardless of motor temp. I have the fan set to come on at about 195F. I can also smell a really rich exhaust. I tried setting the Air Conditioner enabler N/O on.. but the fan still has a mind of its own.
Whats the normal O2 reading at idle with the car warmed up?

 

Just disconnect the Cold Start.. Need to compare the wiring diagrams from yours to a 89 running dual fans and see what output the ECM uses to control the fan. cheers, Bob
