7747 ecm need simple answers.

ok couple of question for you gurus.here is the scenario.

i have a 1969 dodge charger r/t. (badly in need of restoration)
i was planning on an efi conversion.

ok hardware is no issue i can fabricate the intake manifold and other odds and ends i can even fit the late small cap HEI 7 pin electronics in the distributor.

do i need a reference signal form the crank ???

can the tbi ecm run multiple injector like 8 high impedence or will this fry the ecm's output section. can that be modified ??

this is a speed density TBI ecm correct ???

this unit can be adapted to other engines if i use all gm spark control and sensors right ??
oh and what vehicles can i find this ecm and wiring harness in ???????
should be pretty easy to answer for Grumpy.

This sounds more like a swap question than a PROM question, but I'll give you my opinions. Just add injector bungs to the intake, not really fabricating and you don't even have to weld them. Epoxy works good. The module doesn't have to go in the dist. but that's OK. The pick up coil is all the signal the module needs from the engine and then it and the ecm handle the rest.

If you're running TBI use a TBI ecm. If using PFI use PFI ecm. What you want is a 730, 727. I'm sure what you ask can be done but why? Go to diy-efi.org and get to reading the gmecm page and look at the ecm numbers in question. Lots of info for all your basic questions.

Yes but so is 730/727.

The unit can be adapted to a lawnmower, it doesn't care. FWIW, my boss and I will be putting a 727 on his 87 250 Dodge truck with a A518 tranny when he swaps in a modern (97-02) 360 motor. We plan on writing some code (if we ever learn how) so that 4th gear is controlled by the gmecm. Anything can be done if you know how.

thank you for yr answers i am going to be using the 7730 instead. i just figured with the source code being hacked that it would be simpler to adapt.
