I have been reading up on RPOM burning. Basicalyl people have said over and over again that it is fairly easy to figure out and cheaper than buying even just one off the shelf PROM. My question to you is...
If I swap a ZZ4 and T56 into my car with portmatched Edlebrock base/SLP Runners/stock plenum and 24lb injectors, will I be able to burn my own chip, without a problem, to get the car running WELL???
Basically, as a novice, will I be able perform the functions necessary to make the car run well with these new mods?

How much do you really want to invest time wise?.
If you just want to get the basic bits, and just get things, close, that doesn't take much effort. If you want everything correct, and take things to the level of better then GM did that takes some serious work.
Judging my the lack of used prom burning stuff around, I'd say most guys get it figured out. And from most of what little I've seen it's just been guys updating to better stuff.
Can you?
Dunno,
Most guys do get it figured out.
Just as I haven't the knack for math, I suppose there's someone that doesn't have the knack for prom burning.

Good points Grumpy. When I say I want to burn PROMs to the point where the car runs well, I mean I want the car running effienctly... not to rich, not to lean with the mods and new motor. I want it running well enough that it runs smooth and passes emissions. I am not necessarily saying I want to burn the PROMs so that I can squeeze every last tenth out of my quarter mile. I have a decent understanding of the basic features of the PROMs. Having this said, is it fairly easy for a novice to make a ZZ4/T56 with port matched Edelbrock base/SLP runners/stock plenum and 24 lb injectors run well, with help from this board???
