Non GM question
Non GM question
I have a question that may or may not be able to answer here. I have sold my 96 z/28, and purchased a 92 dsm (eagle talon turbo all wheel drive), and can run low 12's with it if I could do some ecm tuning. I have not been able to find any inexpensive bin editors for the car, although one company is starting to make an lt1-edit like program. My question is does anyone know of anywhere to find the software, I can socket the eprom, I just don't know where to get software. IF anyone wants to undertake this project there is a huge market with the 89-94 dsm turbos. Right now everyone uses piggyback devices. THank, if no one knows thanks anyway.

If is a pretty big word.
I'd just snip out the oem ecm, and figure out which GM ECM to replace it with. And the sensor interfaces.
Yes, would be work, but you'd have the best of all worlds.
I have thought about that (using the 749ecm with a 3bar map, the ignition system looks like it would be my largest problem). AEM makes a plug in stand alone computer, and a company called dsmlink (not out for 1g cars yet) makes a program, but it is limited and only offered as a 550$ package. I was just wondering if anyone here knew of anything else, as this has been by far my best source of info like this. Most people just by an AFC and bigger injectors, but I hate piggy-back devices. Can the 749 ecm be used with a coil pack style ignition system? (or is it already when used with it's four cylinder applications?). In all honesty I can get in the 11's with an afc, but I really wanted to avoid it (the afc, not the 11's
