My friend and I are buring chips fo rmy 89 350 tpi tf heads and a 218/224 cam problem seems to be that from 0-60 i ge like no knock but downshifting in 3rd into 2nd the knock gets 31 degrees and retards the hell out of the timing meaning basically no power, car just screams. This does it with both stoch and madified chip. we have 30* degrees of timing total. how can i wipe all of that out? is something spiking somehting?

 

try adding some fuel and lowering teh amount of dcfo.

 

Is this an auto? If so this seems to be a problem many have (others have asked about it here). I have seen the same thing in a 3.1L/auto f-body. Romp on the go pedal, trans downshifts and the knock counts go through the roof. Seems the best thing to do may be to increase the knock retard recovery rate. Can also try a lot more AE, it all depends upon whether the knock is real or not.
