Help with SES light EGR related

Hey all, I am swapping over to Vortec heads and the SDPC TPI manifold on my 92. I don't want to have to plumb into my SLP headers for the EGR provision to function. If I just ditch the EGR valve (under plenum) and make a block off plate for this and the "provision" that SDPC has encorporated, will my computer have a fit? I don't care about the SES light just "being on" b/c I will EVENTUALLY get into prom burning and get rid of that. But, will the car run like crap b/c of the computer having a spaz attack?

Also, I have a COmp Xtreme energy cam 218/224 duration @ approx .500" Comp says its designed for TPI engines but I am curious if Speed Deensity cars can handle it without again, the computer throwing a fit. Any takers?

I recently did a motor swap and used my stock 305 prom for a week or so until I recieved the TunerCat registration. I upgraded to a 383 with a similar duration and lift cam. My car is as well a 92 TPI. My stock prom was obviously way off but it would run okay. Other than the SES light you shouldn't have any major whigging without the EGR. I didn't and still haven't had any problems without it on the car. Definitely get into tuning your own proms though.
