I got a hack from the diy-efi site, but I not sure how accurate it is. I've seen you over at the SyTy site talking about the 3 bar bin. Thats something I've been pondering as well. I don't need the Ultimate chip, but having a 3 bar bin would be cool if I decide to go with a turbo setup later. Currently I'm working on a M90 Eaton blower on a 5.0 TPI using a 749 and 30lb injectors. HTH Bob
Yeah, I am trying to break things down about 3-bar chips, 50# chips, etc. If you've seen me on that site, you see that not a lot of questions get answered. So I'm trying to get a definitive document together about the 749 and the conversions available. There is a lot of info out there, but there are a few things I have yet to find.
I want to know the deeper code so I understand what's going on. So hopefully when people ask questions, they can be answered quickly and easily.
I've been going for a few months now doing research on this, but I'm the type of geek that wants to know why
I like that it works.....I just wanna know the details behind it.
Do you have a link to that hack? I'd be intersteed in taking a look.
Thanks,

I emailed you a copy of what I had. If you don't mind I'd love to see one of your 3 bar bins to compare as well. Yeah the site does seem to be more secrective than what you would find here at thirdgen, but I can't blame them, a lot of time and effort has benn put in. Changing out the injector drivers seems to be the way to go as far as running #50 lb + injectors, I've got several MOSFETs here to swap in once I get done assembling a half dozen WBO'2 for a freind. From looking at the wiring diagrams the injector wiring will need to be switched to the Sunbird Turbo style as the bird uses 4 P/H injectors. cheers, Bob

Great, thanks,
You have mail.
And yes, you're right. They have put a lot of time in. I certainly commend them on their efforts. But in all reality, not everyone's gonna be able to do all this, and will buy their product. But with the SyTy's being such a limited production.....the information should be available for those wanting to explore things. I tried asking questions for months, and after they kept sliding off the page unanswered........I decided to take it further and figure it all out how it's done.
That's why I like sites like this and the GN forums. This knowledge is shared while there are still chips sold that do the same thing.
Hell, with all the costs of programmers, chips, time, etc...........I could have just gone out and bought a chip myself and come out cheaper. But that's not gonna explain how it's done. I just stopped asking questions once I saw everyone on that site gang up on a person for asking some more detailed questions. And if they weren't ganged up on, the question wasn't answered. I just hope to ease up the frustration that I'm feeling (and I'm sure I'm not the only one).

Thanks,
It will be interesting to do a compare of the bins. I'll have to do a disassembly and see what differences exist. Do you happen to know what BCC your bin is based on? Shouldn't make much difference but it might be helpful and explain if I find something strange. Unfortunitly I'm not real good with source code, just been a long time since I had it in school, have to wake up a few brain cells.. lol
I tend to find the GN and F-body guys a bit more out going with info, I just don't know anyone in the SyTy community to pick on.
Theres several SyTys around here, and hopefully I'll get some time next summer to do more talking with em, since my Malibu should be finished by spring. Its going thru a long restification (4 years), halfway thru mini tubbing the rear frame for larger wheels/tires atm. Thanks again, Bob
