got my new ALDL cable here the other day.. and it showed that I had 11 counts of knock on the engine in neutral up to 5000rpm.. SO I am thinking something is knocking right... can any of you guys give me some pointers on programs and etc... I am using Craig Moates freeware.. it looks pretty good... So anyhelp would be appreciated

 

Is the computer pulling out any timing?

 

I have the same problem. Usually I have more counts but in this particular log I had 11 total knock counts. This happened at 3 seconds and retarded my timing twice, once 2.64 and 2.46.
I would imagine that at startup knock wouldn't really matter. Am I correct in this assumption?

 

On startup, the knock sensor could be picking up any number of things, including the starter. My new 355 usually has about 1-3 knock counts on startup but none while driving and my old 350 had about 1-3 on startup also but would get 100-150 knock counts in a 5mile trip. I normally had 10deg of timing retard from knock under WOT.
