Cant program, help me out will ya

I am having problems burn to a chip. I have my programmer hooked up to a win 2k station I can copy the chip down save it as a bin. I Then remove Vats from the system, save the file and bring it back into the programmer software.

Sounds good so far, right?

Wrong, I take a freshly cleaned chip and slap it into the programmer, blank check to ensure its blank. Then go to program the device. About a split second later the programmer dings and says error programming. I read the chip and it has like the first two hex's programmed and nothing else.

I have tryed rebooting and closing all programs with no luck. Its the same story over and over again.

I am going to try it on a different computer next. I searched and found that a few people were having the same problem as me. If anyone knows how to fix this or has any ideas, Post away!!!

Make sure your programmer's software is configured for *exactly* the PROM type you're burning. Programming voltages vary widely by chip type...27C128 versus 27128A for example. Both 128K chips, but program at different voltages.

not much detail on your hardware.

what blanks? what programmer? what ecm is it for?

does your programmer have a compatible software that would work in dos (by utilizing a boot floppy) that youv'e tried?
