Setting Idle RPM in drive.
Setting Idle RPM in drive.
I have the 7730 ecm. I need to add 100rpm to my Idle in drive. What table do I need to adjust. The idle rpm vs. coolant temp table in the "tables section" says it should I should be idleing at 850 in drive. It idles at about 800+/-. There is also the add to idle in park table that has 100rpm in it. But the car idles at 1,000+ in park. Are there any other tables that control the idle. I need to have the car idle at 900-950 in drive.
???
If I remember right, one of the ECMs was hard-coded with a max RPM limit of 850 once up to temp. Don't know if it was the 7730 and don't know if it was for park or drive, but the info was out there.
I haven't gone over 750 with my combo once warmed up. Biggest cam I had tried was a 214/224, 0.442/0.465 combo plus add a tenth on the RR ratioso it bumped it up a wee bit. LSA was 112.
I had her idling very smoothly at 500RPM just for fun. I didn't mess with that RPM long cause I locked my BLMs and was probably running an AFR that wasn't prime at that RPM level.
Just keep in mind that smooth running doesn't always mean a need for a higher RPM. Good luck, -Matt-

It is a ZZX cam. 242/242 .596/.598 on a 112. TPIS told me the cam needed to idle at 900-950 in drive for tuning reasons and idle vacuum. It sounds good at 750 and has 9.5-10"hg. But it wants to stumble a little off idle. That is probably tuning though.
