Yeah, fire all of the mickeysoft engineers and put gates in a coma.

Win XP has different issues with different computers, kind of a "Russian Roulette" for computers.

I am having the same problem with my programmer 2. I as well am running Win XP and I get the same error message, "Cannot find programmer".
I haven't had alot of free time lately to play around with it, but give Karl at intronics a call and tell him that you are not the only one having this problem. If you figure the problem out and if you wouldn't mind, post the solution here. I will try and call him as well though.

i did in deed call karl at intronics and he had me check the power pack to see if it was putting out the 9 volts. it was not putting out any volts. just use dc volt meter and put the black lead on the outside of the plug that goes to the programmer, and the red lead on the inside of the plug with the pack pluged into the wall outlet. it should read 8.5-9.5 volts. somewhere in there. do you have the newest version of win 1.72? you need it for xp.

Well, I tested my power adapter and the output voltage was a wopping 0.00 and the ver. of the PPII software I have is 1.64, so no I don't have the latest release. What is different about it?

i dont realy know what the difference is between the two versions, but i think you need the newest version for xp. its free at intronics and if you just got your power adapt. they will send you a new one for free. just call the number on the site and tell them the prob. and they will send out the new stuff the next day. i even called on sunday eve. and they were there. follow the instructions on the site to copy over the old version.
