749 ecm and 730 chip?
i want to put in a 749 computer for a future forced induction project. could i use the chip from a 90-92 350TPI temporarily? Or at least as a starting point for tuning? it's a stock engine.

I think you can, but why? Just use your stock 730 ecm/memcal untill you go forced induction. As for the second question no your best bet is to start with the sy/ty code and change from there. The only thing you'll need your stock memcal for is the limp home chips and the esc filter.

Yes the memcal should be for a 90-92 TPI.
Part number 16151348 will work for a 749 swap.
I doubt the $58 code would run well without boost, a better choice would be to run the TPI code with a 730 until you add the blower/turbo etc.
Its possible the 90-92 code will work with the 749 provided you wire the ecm to 90-92 TPI pinouts and use a 1bar MAP sensor. I haven't tried it myself. BW
