Pocket Prgmr II won't burn the complete file?

I've used this programmer at least 100 times without a problem, this morning trying to burn a flash chip, AT29C256, it would burn about the first 300 bytes, then would stop and do the compare.....tried about 10 more times and sometimes it would get to 3400 and then stop and do the compare....
Stopped and restarted the program, same thing...
The chip selector is set correctly to AT29C256.
I tried a different chip, same thing.

Anyone know what I can do or what the problem is?

Might try using Cntrl/Alt/del and closing out all the none essentual (?) stuff running, in the background.

Things like Zone Alarm can cause PP to puke.

I have the exact same problem. I think mine died. I can't burn anything accurately on 3 different computers running 3 different OS's. It used to work perfectly. I think it died.

Well, I fired everything back up when I got home tonight from work, and it worked ok... It was weird this morning, it would get right to address loc 300 or 3400 and stop.
All other apps were closed, I even switched chips, same thing. Closed and restarted the PP2 software.
I didn't reboot the machine though, even though I had just booted it up just to burn the chip before I went to work, so I didn't think that would help, but I guess something was fluky.
I had this happen once before and I just tried another chip, thought the one I was using had seen its day.
