Last weekend I did get rid of that backfire problem out the intake by playing with the values in the AE delta TPS table (thanks TRAXION and others). The motor still runs very poorly. As soon as I step on the throttle it jerks like it wants to go, then almost immediately it just backs off. I can go about full throttle and the motor just doesn't respond. It's like I'm pushing harder on the pedal and the motor isn't working any harder.

I still have to get my ALDL to laptop cable working to analyze the data, I know...but when I collect data where should I start looking for the source of this problem? I'm new to this. Wasn't sure how to search the archives for this one.

Probably need extensive VE and spark tuning to get the most from that LT1 intake. Powerband doesn't have much in common with TPI.

Beyond tuning issues, there's also mechanicals to worry about too, like a gasket blocking an intake/exhaust port or even hard part misalignment. Poorly machined cam that doesn't match specs, or was installed wrong, etc.

Could even be something as dumb as a bunch of knock retard

 

Thanks Ed, hopefully I'll get my laptop connected to my ECM soon to start analyzing data. My desktop and laptop will not connect to my ECM, but my Auto X Ray will. Very strange considering I've tried making three cables now.

Would that knock retard solely be found in the spark tables?
