Can I use the WinALDL connector for Moates' software?

I already have a cable I made for WinALDL back in the summer and now I want to use the Craig Moates software. Can I use the same cable?

I do not think so, although I have not tried. I know that the 2 transistor interface works good and it is easy to build. That is what I use.

The 2 transistor cable works with both craig's software and winaldl. Paul, I just found out that the 165 (your maf ecm) only sends data at 8192baud when in diagnostics mode (10k resistor trick) and only spits out 160baud under normal driving conditions. I think it's almost a lost cause keeping the 165 with your motor. I'll go to the junkyard to see if I can get you that extra "green plug" for the 7730. Then I'll e-mail you a bin that should help. BTW, set the dizzy to 8 degrees and crank up your fuel pressure. After much thinking I have a feeling your engine is just starving for fuel (and air with stock maf).

Prevo....I used to have my timing up at 10* with about 50psi for the fuel pressure and felt no difference. I'll try turning it back up again and see what happens....which chip should I run with those settings?
As far as you e-mailing me a .bin file, I have no means of burning it onto a chip. Definately if you can find that green connector it would be most appreciated, however I don't think doing the swap on my own is something I can tackle for the first time. I'll probably have to wait till you're home again.

Now for the cable. I have the single transistor cable for WinALDL so I guess it won't work with the Moates software. I did get your cable from JimmyTime though, but I have no idea how it connects to the ALDL port in the car.....as far as I can tell nothing lines up. I also can't find a diagram of it on Moates site. If you know of a link with a diagram please send it to me.

If the green plug is the one I think it is (the odd one out), they can also be found in yellow.
