APYP Questions
Real quick guys:
1) Is the ALDS SA the base timing or is the Spark Reference Angle - Base Timing the one I want to change to set the base timing in the PROM? (I want to set the base timing in the chip to 8.09 degrees)
2) What is the Oil Temp flag that needs to be turned off? I don't know the option code of it.
3) This PROM is for a Manual Tranny therefore shouldn't the ManT? flag be checked?
Thanks for all the support.
Brian P

PM your APYP questions to Anetheses.
He should be able to help.
A APYP search might turn up some answers.
Anetheses has a "hot" and a "cold" APYP that I DLed off of his sight.
They're both set-up for use in a '89 MAF 3rdGen.
I believe the "hot" bin uses the stock timing for an '89 Corvette running aluminum heads - dont take my word for it though!
I'm pretty new at this DIY PROM stuff . . .
I hope that helps!

i dont think you would want to set yer spark reference angle at 8.09, that value is suposed to be equal to what you have your base timing set at mechanicaly, so break out the timing light, set yer timing to 8.0 and then put 8.0 in the chip.

I appreciate the help fellas.
FstBrd6point3:
In the PROM the closest I can get to 8* is 8.09 degrees. The next value down is 7.73 degrees. The margin of error is greater in the latter as compared to the actual static timing.
Thank you,
Brian P
