for the experts

I'm trying to learn how to burn my own chips and I'm looking for a good starting point. I don't want to use my stock bin
aujp...92 GTA with 350.. unless that really is the best starting point. My mods are
slp 1.75" headers, no cats with dynomax ultra flow..1.6 rockers, pulleys and stealth ram with 24lb svo injectors.. the car was purchased by me with the 24lb injectors already in it and a tpis chip. but i added the steath ram and 1.6 rockers so I guess I should reprogram..what about this arap bin I keep reading about or is that only for maf systems.. thanks for any imputs.

ARAP is MAF only.
I think the bin you have is probably the best starting place for you. The first thing would be to get an adjustable regulator and turn the pressure down to about 36psi, at the stock 43.5psi you are flowing a bit more than 24 lb/hr and would be more fuel than that engine needs.
You don't really have a severely modded engine so the stock bin would be the best place to start.

I would get the fact first, don't move your fuel pressure till you know what your BLM's are, better rich than lean.
Then still don't move fuel pressure, begin tuning.
Get some data then get back to us and see what the car needs.

Have a scan tool? or a laptop?
If not,get one.

Snag a copy of Tuning Tips from the DIY-EFI.org FTP.
Old and dated, but it'll get you going.

Get a scan tool, perferably with data logging.

See if you can't build, finance, find, a Wide Band Oxygen Sensor.

If you can data log, and include the WB, it makes life really simple, and much guicker.

You can tune with just a voltmeter, but it just takes alot longer.

And learn to take notes. They are critical to learning, and noting trends in what the engine likes.

You can tune all day, but unless you know where you are, and where your going, the path is difficult.

Like any job having the right tools makes life easier.

The right tools, notes, and looking for trends, is all critical in min the effort to get the tune CORRECT.
