68HC11 questions.
68HC11 questions.
Hey guys! Now that school is out, AND I have a fresh BSEE in my hot little hand, I have a little free time to work on a computer project that I'm interested in
so, here are my questions.
1) Does anyone know the exact differences between the 68HC11 and the custom version that GM uses? I looked on the ECM guy page and all it said was that some register functions were different and that it had an expanded/slightly different instruction set. I'm assuing that ports and other I/O are the same, you know archetecture stuff..(bad speller)
2) I haven't seen any mention of C compliers being used by anyone here. I used a PIC in my senior project, writing code in C was alot easier than writing it in assembly (even if the final assembly code is a little bloated). I've seen some 68HC11 C compliers anyone used them?
Thanks for any info you guys might have!

Yeah, I'm adding to that page as I read the BUA hac, but it's still very incomplete.
BTW I found an assembler for the HC11 that is available for Linux and Windows, and compiles some of the disassemblies I've downloaded.

SeattleRobotics has lots of code:
