Hanging with Grumpy
Just got back from the Buick Nats late last nite (sat) and had the oppurtunity to hang out quite a bit with Grumpy. He's a decent guy contrary to some reports and is more than willing to share information with others. I know he helped quite a few people that were attending the event. He also offered to give me a hand tuning my own car, but due to circumstances on my part my tuning gear was out of commision for the trip(carried 2 laptops as dead gear doh)...
Anyone getting a chance to meet and talk to him at length(know they hold a breakfast gathering? semiregularly) about prom burning and the events that got us to where we are today with Tunercat, the hacs and the like will more than likely learn something new within 5 min of talking to him..
He also introduced me to Bob Bailey (the guy who designed the MAF Translator and T+), I even helped him swap out the turbo on his GN. So I got to meet some overall pretty cool guys who are just gearheads like the rest of us, maybe just a lil more privvy to how things work on the ecm end though..
Think the highlite of it was Grumpy and I cruising Beach Bend Park in John Spina's Cobra replicar with a grand national drivetrain, talk about fun and getting some serious looks. lol
later

PS Ill keep in touch Grumpy and plan a trip out your way once my exhaust is finally in one piece
this post isnt meant to start a flame war from ANYONE, just my thoughts and observations hanging out with the buick/prom burning community
thanks

Grumpy is meaner than a junk yard dog
All are in fear of his bark. Some run away and hide if he just snaps at them. Did he slobber all over that Cobra?
If he's such a nice guy, how could he take the weekend of to go play with GN types when he should have been fixing my '808 ignorance problems?

lol I'll even admit he has his days but tons covered here and reasked has been covered in detail . Not everything i know, but we have no manual to explain it for us.
Research your problems and if your stuck, someone here whether it may be grumpy or not will reply to u if they have encountered the same prob/conditions u r getting.
I dont know anything about 808 code, etc or i would offer advice
