First Post...... Need to Start Learning....

Hey Guys... Well this is my first post on this site. Im usually hanging around the Corvetteforum, but there forced Induction and tuning sections.... well just arent up to par if you ask me.

Im very foggy on the whole tuning thing and I want to learn about all this. I want to start to be able to tune mine own car whenever I feel like it to whatever i feel like. I understand its going to take time and practice and a lot of expeiracne will be needed to get really good but anyways, enough of that......

I have a 1991 Corvette 6spd with a TPI (speed density), and just purchased myself a Dual intercooled D-1 Procharger by ATI. Got myself a walbro GSS340 fuel pump instead of the inline pump.

I was thinking about doing the Typhoon/Syclone ECM 7749 swap into my car. I dont know what the best thing for me to do is at this point. Im going to get her runing on the FMU at first, but Im never going to be totally happy with that. IF anyone can point a newbie in the right direction that would be great.

Sorry for the novel, Thanks again guys, Any info would be reatly appreciated

I just fouind what I was looking for... Traxions "Starting up article". I read the whole thing and going read it a couple more times. Im going to get this tuning thing down.

Hopefully you guys will help me along and point me in the correct direction......

My one question that remains for now is.....

Should I swap the ECMs my 7727 (91 TPI SD VETTE) for the 7749 (SY/TY) or just burn the chips for my exsiting ECM? (* Im using a supercharger if that means anything)

Your 727 is a 730 in a showerproof enclosure . You should be able to convert it to run a pressurised intake. There are links to a project showing how to do this in detail. Do a search on 730 and $58 (the mask ID for a 2Bar MAP) on this site and you'll find some stuff that will keep you reading for a while.
