I asked this over on the ECM board, and didn't get a response. I figured you guys knew your stuff pretty well, and might be able to help.
I've removed the TBI and electronically controlled distributor from my '88 Camaro (8063 ECU). I was wondering if the knock count value that came off the ALDL could still be trusted even though the ECU is probably in some sort of limp home mode. The knock count value is always 0, and I've never seen it change.

I'd investigate using a Casper's Knock Detector with just the ESC module. Goggle for Casper's Electronics in IL, and see if you could just tie his sensor into the ESC module. He makes the dectector for the GN, and I think it would transfer over.Originally posted by Mark305TBI
