ALDL timing report, moates, wtf..
What EXACTLY does ALDL report in regards to timing?
Base + table?
(Base + table) - retard?
(Base + table + pe) - retard?
(table + pe) - retard?
I'm guessing the last one.
Base timing is set to 10` (9.8 in the bin)
timing table:
4800, 5200, 5600 = 26.0d @ 100kpa
4800, 5200, 5600 = 46.1d @ 50kpa
4800, 5200, 5600 = 38.0d @ 60kpa
PE adder:
4800 and higher = 7.0 on PE advance.
Scan logged this:
5000 RPM at 53.79 kpa = 44.3d (21.9% tps)
5100 RPM at 54.13 kpa = 44.6d (21.9% tps)
5100 RPM at 96.69 kpa = 30.2d (80.9% tps)
5125 RPM at 100.34kpa = 31.3d with 1.76 knock retard
(99.6% tps)
In the 5100RPM @ 96kpa example, 30.2 degrees sounds like table timing + pe (7d). Same goes with the last entry. 26.0 + 7 =
33d.
So either it doesn't report base timing, OR base timing is included in table timing (in tunercat) ??

I don't really know, But would love to find out.
I think Moate's software is reporting *actual* ie if you hooked up a timing light it should read the same as the scanner.
I hope so, because that's how I set my timing.
