Stk 500??

I got a STK500 from ATMEL about a year ago for ****s n giggles. I was wondering if it would work for programming the ATmel eprom that works with our cars? I know it is mainly for micocontrollers. I've never used it yet so I guess i'm just hoping to not have to buy a PP2
