everything was working fine but my laptop bit the dust and its too much to fix it. Anyway, I was looking at a new laptop and find they all have USB ports and no serial ports.

there is an adapter by belkin F5u103 usb to Rs 232 adapter available but does anyone know if it will work with Win aldl on a computer using win XP??

I talked to andrew at AKM where I got the cable and he was not sure . I don't want to buy a new laptop and not have it work with my aldl program which I like a lot.

I could buy a used laptop, but would rather ugrade to a new one so I can do all my other stuff on it too.

Anyone who has used this adapter and run Win aldl please let me know.
