Accelerometer Dyno results, please advice.

First I am a newbie.
I am trying to get in the in the EPROM burning area.
I have a Kit Car with an engine from Camaro ’87 with 305cid and a T5 NWC transmission with a 3.31 diff.
The car is actually running with a 1227165 ECM with an ABUT8562 (Calif. 2.73 A4)
So I want to correct the data changing the next:
- From an A4 to T5 transmission.
- Remove all the ancillaries.
- Change the diff. from 2.73 to 3.31.
- Reduce the fan vs. temp.

Can you please advice where to start? Is there an adequate BIN vs. ECU file?

Is it possible to read my Accelerometer Dyno results and get conclusions where to start modifying?

Sorry guy’s for the amount of questions.

TIA

Karel

The dyno results are about the car, in your case.
You need to monitor the engine, ie AFR, RPM, injector PWs, and timing, to know where to look for HP.

There a bunch of threads about the ARAP .bin and what to do to get it to run in F-Body.
You might look for a vette applic to most closely resemble what you have, and see what specifics there are for the man applics.

Thanks for your input Grumpy.
I will start with the TEMP vs. FAN but I don’t understand why in the ARAP show these low figures.

FAN2 TURN ON (AC OFF) is -23.84 degrees
FAN2 TURN OFF (AC OFF) is 22.3 degrees

FAN2 TURN ON (AC OFF) should 200 degrees
FAN2 TURN OFF (AC OFF) should 195 degrees

Is this the way to work just use common sense?

Sorry about my dyno I did a bad conversion. Here is the correct picture.
Regards,
Karel

On my eng (87 350 TPI), the secondary fan is not controlled by the ECM. It has it's own independent circuity.

The primary fan is controlled by the ECM.
I tried to set my primary fan ON and OFF temps to 190 and 185 but fan never shut off even though I was showing 180 degs on the data lgger. Started moving the ON and OFF temps up. I set the ON temp for 205 and the OFF temp for 195, but the fan won't go off till 190 degs.
Apparently the ECM wants a 15 deg min. split between On and OFF temps.
I'm using the ARAP bin.

That's odd. I too am using the ARAP bin and have mine set to 208/204. The stock spread is the same just moved down the temps equally for both settings and it works fine.

Hi “ZZ28ZZ”,
Yes I know that my secondary FAN is not governing by the ECM. I was just using the term from an ECU file that I have (32Bv001.ecu) (Fan 1 is with the AC ON and Fan2 is with the AC OFF on this ECU)

Hi “poncho@home”,
I have found several ARAP files with the ON 226.41 and OFF 220.81 if I change this numbers for new ones like I mention is that OK?

I am waiting for the release of the PROMINATOR to start trying these things.

Does some one know what I need to change to get the set-up for a manual T5?
Do I need to set “0” value for the TCC lock and unlock speed vs. %TPS and also for the MPH low speed limit for low gear lock.
Thanks in advance.
Karel

Poncho>> Have you confirmed the fan is coming on and going off at the prescribed temps while monitoring the temp via the ECM output?

My fan works exactly as defined in my EPROM.

-ON @ 91.8º C (197º F)
-OFF @ 88.8º C (192ºF)

Thermostat open and works at 88ºC (190º F)

Coolant temperature shown in the scanner: Between 88ºC & 92ºC.

= Real fan operation.

Never problem with this point.

Humm, wish I had another car to try it out on.
Maybe there's something wrong with my ECU file..

Most mask's have a minimum fan run time. This may be throwing you off.

RBob.

Thx for the suggestion, but my "min fan 1 time on" constant is 15 secs.
Any other fan parameters that might cause this??
