Just a note on VE Master
I've been using VE Master for a little while now and am impressed with how smooth my VE tables look. When viewing the VE tables as a graph, it flows very nicely and evenly, with no spikes or holes to speak of.
So why the post?
Well, I've been having a stumble off idle. The car would stall when I pushed in the clutch when coming to a red light or stop sign. Very aggravating. I replaced the plugs, cleaned the TB and IAC, thoroughly checked for vacuum leaks, then reset the min air and TPS. All to no avail.
While showing a buddy my VE table graphs in Tuner Cat he noted that I was viewing 1600 - 5600 rpms. I hadn't thought much about it, but I did have the other VE table. Never crossed my mind to look at it. It shows the VE table from 0 - 1600 rpms. Opened that up and viewed it as a graph and I was shocked. It looked as if someone had destroyed it with a hatchet. Huge spikes, valleys and what looking like a black hole right in the middle fo the graph. I spent about two hours smoothing it all out so it appeared somewhat like the upper VE tables. So after doing a few searches here on TGO, I burned a chip, unplugged the ecm, installed the new chip and went for a drive. Car was 100% better. No stalling, no sputtering, no hanging idle. Drove like my dads stock 92 Z28. I was quite pleased. I then datalogged it and ran VE Master to 1600 rpms. The changes it made were small, but the car drove better.
So to some up this note, VE Master works great, but you have to get the tables in the ball park before it can work. If its too far out of spec, it doesnt' seem to be able to make the necessary changes. I also followed Traxions tuning article while I datalogged, which more than likely contributed to the vast improvement in idle quality and overall drivability. With the lower VE table smoothed out, the transition to the uppers is much better.
Now I think I need to adjust my pump shot. I pulled about 10% out of it, and the part throttle bog doesn't seem as pronounced. Just wish I had a WBO2 to make this more of an exact science.
thats the end of my babble.... hope its useful to someone

I am actully very glad you posted your results. For a while I have been thinking about using VE Master. So I am glad to see it is working for you.
Now if you please, where do you get it and how do you use it??
A little help if you don't mind. Thanks
Oh, and I just got a WB from the GP that went on here so maybe I will have even more luck with VE Master!!
