knock sensor placement

I think it's time to put a knock sensor on my car. I have the sensor, but can't figure out where to put it. The engine is a 1973 454. I know that on the 350 the knock sensor is screwed into the water drain plug hole on the block. I have one of those on my 454, but the oil fill tube is right in the way.

There is a hole right below the fuel pump, where you insert the fuel pump push rod. Do you think I could remove the push rod (I have it in there just for storage since I don't have a mechanical fuel pump) and mount it there? It wouldn't be in the water jacket, but it would be mounted to good solid cast iron. It would, also, not be anywhere near the center of the block, but would be near the right front of the engine.

Any thoughts?

Can you tap another hole in the same location, but on the other side?.

Distant second is just anywhere, that's perpendicular to the bore, and into a thick area of the casting. Going into the water jacket isn't a concern.

There's a spot on the other side too, but it is too close to the motor mount. The problem is the size of the sensor. The oil holes are too small, or I could use one of them.

Maybe I can remove a spark plug and put it in there
