Burned first chip--Comments and questions
Wassup guys.
Burned my first chip today. The first thing i wanna say is that switching in and out the 2732A chips in the 8746ecm is kind of a beeyotch. Now i know the why people recommened getting moates adapter to switch to the flash chip and the zif socket.
All i did this time was to get rid of the VATS and the speed limiter.
Question: What should i do next? I logged some data and I'm pretty rich all across the board, but i dont know if im confident enough to mess with my fuel tables jus yet.
Thanks for your input,
KD

in addition to taking good notes, also save your previous bins that youve made. That way in the future you have a complete record of what youve done. The PT fueling isnt too bad. Just take the car around and cruise. Try not to have any high throttle or just usage in one spot since the blms only really start to give you an idea of whats going on if you have a large number of samples and the operation is mostly steady laoding. If the software your using has good graphing capabilities then you can also get an idea of what the fueling should look like and you can smooth it out by eye. This is what worked for me, anyhow, and within around 20 bins or so i stopped blowing black smoke and got blms around 128 +/- 2.

I'm using tunercat and winaldl. I was gonna use jon prevost's program to help with the fueling, but i'm not really sure how to use it. Any tips on that would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks fellas,

thats what i have as well, along with an eeprom so i dont have to use the uv eraser. You can also just save the blm table in winaldl and then just use the average blms at each rpm and map to retune the VE tables. Just make sure you have more then 15 samples for each blm cell that you use. The new VE value = (present BLM at that value/128) * present VE value. Do this for each of the VE cells in in the #1 VE table that you have BLM data for. Youll ahve to do this many times, obviously, since each iteration is needed to get you closer to where you want to be fueling wise.
