This is what I have so far

I have the 730 ECM and so far have tunerpro, and P analyzer. Now I am not sure if the P analyzer will work with the 730. My question is what is the difference in the BIN and ECU. I am gonna need a program for a fuel injected 406 SBC. Can I just download a BIN from a stock car and change it, or is the ECU information what you change in tunerpro? Thanks.

The ECU info doesn't change, just the programming on the prom does.

How would I get an ECU for a particular set up. When you go into tunerpro what is this stuff your actually changing? I understand like sparks, fuel and other stuff but what is this part of the BIN?

The .ECU file is a definition file that tells TunerPro, and other software, where in the .BIN file the actual tables, constants, and flags are. You need an ECU file for a 1227730 ECM, and the a AUJP bin file (EPROM image from an 91-92 350 TPI w/ 700R4 Tranny). You can find both of those here: http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/1227730/

Hope that helps.

Ok so I have those two files. Now I just use tunerpro and change things to make it run better. I know that is way simplified but you know what I mean.

Yes, thats all ya do Once you modify what you want, just burn your new .BIN file to an EEPROM and try it out. Lots of reading and lots of experimenting. If you get something working for your Fuel Injected 406, let me know, cause I'm dealing with the same thing! Good luck!

Hey scott i'm trying to see how this one guy has got his set up. He has a 406 in his vette and is running 11.02 and is very streetable. He has 406, AFR 190 heads, accel superram ported and polished, and TPIS 242/242 .610 lift cam. He has really good numbers and i'm trying to get some info off him. I'll let you know.
